Welcome to my blog! My name is Kelly and I hail from a small suburb of Youngstown, OH. That’s right, I said Youngstown, and no, it is not the murder capital of the world or a dying city as Forbes magazine recently dubbed it. There will be more on that later though as I can tie it in. My hometown is a wonderful place to live and I could not be more proud of the technological advances it has had in the past five years or so.
Enough about that though. I left the area for four years to obtain my bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College in Media Studies. Upon graduation, I moved back home where I started my first job as a marketing coordinator for a local software company. My involvement in a young professionals’ group allowed make the contacts and receive the offer for my new job as office manager of a small financial planning firm. In the midst of all that, I chose to start working on my master’s degree through West Virginia University’s online program. As I have never even been to campus, I hope to travel down this fall and maybe take in a Mountaineer football game.
I pride myself on the fact that I have never been afraid to tinker and try new technologies. This new blog made me kind of nervous though because I feel like I might always have to say something profound. I look forward to being challenged though and hope my initial thoughts can spark a discussion that we can all learn from.
